Good Day New York with Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto

Not to publicize Fox 5 news channel, but I always listen the duo of Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto on morning news and liked it because they keep me engaged.
It is not all about the latest news around the town or country but the way the news being told that keeps me engaged. Few things that make this duo popular is their voice, their impromptu complement to each other, and sharing their own experiences regarding the news. I think many news anchors has a great voice which is their distinguished quality so does this duo has. During news and in between news, they add their own material in the context of the news which I think a great quality for a story teller or a leader in an organization. Also, they add their own experiences in the context of the news which also adds a flare to the program.
I would learn impromptu adjustments in my speech and adding my own experiences appropriately to make my communication more influential.

  1. I have this broadcast as well and I would agree that their tone of voice positivly affects the ideas they wish to communicate.

  3. Teams of two seem to work very well when presenting to the marketplace. Regis and Kelli, Howard and Robin, Matt and Meredith all engage the audience through their dynamic partnerships. People are comforted and like the "sound" that is created.
Customer presentations tend to work well with a duo, rather than one person as together, this helps to engage the audience. Of course, a couple who doesn't work well together can have the opposite affect and turn people off entirely.
A recent presentation with an engineer who works as a single entity proved to be very uncomfortable for everyone involved. It was not engaging and the audience was squirming.

  4. Hussain, good observation about the role vocal quality plays in effective communication. TV and news personalities train and maintain their voices and so should ordinary people. Poor vocal tone can be to speaking what typos are to writing.
